Lot of people think of moving to other countries especially to developed ones. Reason is obvious better life, better opportunites,
equality and overall quality of life. I bet some of you reading this were international student or immigrant to country you are currently living in. But being an immigrant is not easy. Most people think it of other way that when we come over to countries like Canada(In my case) we are being favoured, subsidized but that is not the reality. Some of us immigrate as students by paying hefty sum of tuition fees 3x compared to a regular student. We work nights sometimes 4-5 nights and go to school 5 days a week. These students work hard and graduate with good grades. But when is comes to look for jobs and going for interviews there is always this discrimination that dubious look.. f..king immigrant, he is stealing my buddies job.., I would rather give this job to a Canadian born.., he just got here and thinks he can work at my level... no words are spoken but their faces speak loud and clear.Their skills are always overlooked because of their skin colour and ethnicity .

Canada being a multicultural country divide still exists. And for last 7 years i have worked to close this gap. I have talked and educated people about who we are as immigrants and students leaving their parents, friends and loved ones behind for a hope of a better life. Some of us are pushed out of our countries with a choice of death or to flee. Luckily for some of us who managed to come here under better circumstance things aren't any different for any of us. Hopefully some day people will understand that we are all part of the same world looking for happiness and good life. Accept us with open heart and not with closed mindset.
