The Hardest Battles Are Always Fought Within

One of the reasons why I love writing is because I can do a much better job of expressing my innermost thoughts than I can while speaking, even if it is just me typing away on my keyboard without stopping to think those thoughts.

I love how I can have a heart to heart conversation with so many of you through my post and the comments section. This is going to be one of those posts where I just let the thoughts flow, out of my brain and onto the computer screen. So, in case I don’t make any sense at all at the end of this post, I apologize in advance! haha!

Anyways, today I want to talk about something that we all go through regularly in our lives. I’m talking about the battle within, that fight with yourself, which is one of the hardest things to do.

Sometimes, you can be our own worst enemy and it is something that you just can’t afford in today’s world, because let’s face it, there is no shortage of ill-wishers in the world of today.

A Battle With Yourself

knight-2894046_1280.jpg

We all want to be happy, we all want to be pleasant at all times, don’t we? But how often is that a reality? I’m guessing not a lot. You can often hear advices like, “Just be happy. Just enjoy life and live moment to moment.”

Well, that’s good advice but is it really practical? How can you be happy when something is eating away at your heart. How can you even think about being pleasant when you have a black cloud above your head. How can you have hope when all you want to do is give up.

But then, there is also a part of you, that wants these things. That wants to hope, to be happy and to fight back. A part that keeps telling you that everything will just work out.

This is a never ending battle of two wolves inside of you. One is of darkness and despair and the other of light and hope. The wold you choose to feed, is the one that will win.

Defeat Your Inner Demons

death-164762_1280.jpg

We all have a past. We all have our baggage and our inner demons. The story of your life depends on whether you are able to overpower them or let them overpower you.

There are tons of examples in the world where people have beaten all odds to achieve great success, no matter the field. People who were at the lowest of lows are now at the highest of highs. It is such people that should inspire you.

Trust me, it isn’t easy to just wake up one day and defeat your inner demons. It takes time and patience and even if you do, they have a habit of resurfacing time and again. But remember the wolf of light in such moments and feed it. The wolf of darkness will starve.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, persevere my dear friends, and you shall know greatness and joy. As Dumbledore says in one of the Harry Potter movies, 'Happiness can be found even in the darkest times, if one only remembers to turn on the light'.

Awesome Post I Really Liked It

Thank you :)

It was great to read as I am having inner fights these days. I don't like that sometimes my negative thoughts are stronger than positive ones. I feel to give up and at the same time I have many hopes and dreams.
I don' t know yet which part of me will win this time, but I am trying to feed positive thoughts and keep going to my dreams.

Keep feeding the positive wolf :)

Dont we all have them?@raili I think some are just better at faking they do t have while others are faking it till it becomes real anyway if the hope wins the day is fine the method is irrelevant

what a motivational post! well done

Excellent post , find the light from darkest of places , easy to relate to and great read.. Thank you

Thank you for the kind words :)

that is brilliant --Happiness can be found even in the darkest times, if one only remembers to turn on the light

@juansurf67 I say we need the dark times to better enjoy our joys

I've also learned that sometimes you just have to feel bad. If you try and force a good feeling eventually you'll just bottom out from the strain of forcing it.

That's true too. Sometimes you have to feel the feelings and not bottle them up too.

Bring a flash light so you can find the light switch

wow, this article is awesome and very very inspirational...it sounded as if you were talking to me, i'm an introvert too, seems like we have something in common.
this post is gonna help me alot, thanks for sharing this, i really appreciate

Thank you so much for the kind words. Means a lot :)

Overcoming negative thinking and other inner demons that bring me down is my main focus right now. I think that there is great power in being positive and looking for the best in everything we meet.

Thanks for this, I'm going to keep looking for that light and emphasizing it until it overcomes the darkness in my life. One of the best ways in my opinion is helping others find their own light :)

"He who knows others is wise, he who knows himself is enlightened." -Lao Tzu

That's a great advice. Helping others find their own light is really fulfilling and in doing so we can find our own too :)

Totally, nice post!

@jackeybrown good citation. One without the other makes no sense

You have beautifully put together these thoughts and packed them with great urge and effect. You are correct and writing does helps an introvert and shy person like me to have conversations without any prejudice.

I was in state of despair some 9 years ago and with all the inside demons running full control over me, my life and everyone around.

Finally, came the Himalayas and thats when I started my travel blog. When I was hunting the name then came the thought of naming it something that I live every moment of the day. I used the reverse psychology concept to name so that it keeps reminding me every moment I think of it that I have to fight the inner devil inside me, keep him at leash and keep winning to have live a happy day. I have had a decent success with it in last 9 yrs and it really helped me keep myself at peace, mostly. 😊😊

Thank you for the kind words. It really means a lot. Yeah, we all go through these tough times and the battle with the devil inside is constant. I am glad that you found a way to keep it at bay and that you are living a happier life. Best wished to you :)

Thank you and Cheers !!

haha yeah, although we might think that our problems are unique to us, they really aren't and millions of people are going through it too at any given time. So, yeah, it really feels relatable. Thanks for the kind words :)

The main idea is interesting . The points you made are particular strong due the context . It really made me understand and take my mind at the point you want us to go in order to understand facts and reality .
Fluent and clever presentation .
Keep on steeming .

Thank you so much for the appreciation. It keeps me motivated :)

I am happy to do that.

Yes! It really is about choosing which wolf we want to feed. And that last harry potter quote said it best... you just need to remember to turn it on!

Great post here @sauravrungta. I actually wrote an exercise that does what you're talking about in this post. I'd love to hear your thoughts on my two minute thought experiment: [INTERACTIVE INSPIRATION EXPERIMENT] Could You Feel Better In 2 Minutes? Find Out Now!

Yeah, even if it takes time, we should only focus on feeding the right wolf.

P.S. I just checked out that post and it was really good. I think you believe in the law of attraction?

True. @axios I am teaching myself to entertain only good uplifting thoughts

Yes, so true. You expressed the plight of the human consciousness very well as we know it in the 3D world.

Thank you for the kind words :)

You are welcome. This video might be helpful to you, as well as the websites under the video.

Wooow! Awesome post! I think than everybody have that battle inside of them. The positive and negative thinks going to be there always, the true is than you have the power to manage and control them. You have to be strong and focus on your goals! That's what you have to do to be great! kisses <3 I follow you! : )

Thank you :) Yeah, it's always a fight of positive and negative, be it within you or outside in the world. May the light of positivity always shine bright :)

I too agree that the real peace is found inside the soul and not anywhere else..!!

That's correct :)

Ya, a battle inside us between darkness and lights ,despair and hope,It'll never end.
but we should always keep our mind near happiness and many good thoughts which always help us to fight against our inner darkness and never let us down forward and never make us helpless.
These thoughts make us winner. If we win our inner hopelessness ,we are ourselves a winner.

That is exactly what is needed to be done. Overcoming the darker side and defeating the inner demons :)

So true.

WIin yourself and you will win the world, i really like this post :)

I had an inner fight with this one time. I kind of let it resolve itself out:)

@sauravrungta I always face this struggle in some days the better of me gets uppers d at times I and depressed good like you writing eases those Pain away

Thanks for the message. Personally my best tool for fighting internal battles has been Tai Chi- I've heard it described a few times as an internal martial art. Just a suggestion for a method to put this inspiration to practice!

Great article sir. This is a good reminder that we all are fighting our own battles. Some people's war are too great that they need to wear heavy armor and they have to wear it everyday. That we have to be aware in judging people around us and try to place ourselves in their shoes. Or at least if you cannot help them just don't hurt them. Inner demons are the worst enemy. They slow us down but despite that the only way to get through them is to keep moving forward and not allowing them to stop you. After all this quote really means something
"We all are in the same game just different levels, dealing with the same hell just different devils."
