One thing I keep noticing about us humans is the fact that, no matter what or how much we have, we keep looking for more as if we are all looking for that "one thing" that will finally satisfy us once and for all.
As a result, happiness often eludes us as we always feel like we don't have enough and that we must constantly keep running. This is a sad state of affairs especially because we are running after an illusion.
Only if we could realise the value of the things and people we already have, life would be much easier and simpler. This is another trait of us humans, taking everything for granted.
Living a life of gratitude is what this world needs, in my opinion, because the world needs happiness and that comes only from us pausing for a moment and realising that we already have most things we need in life.
Towards Hapiness
At any given moment, you might not feel like you have a lot. But when you sit down and actually start making a list, you will be pleasantly surprised to know that you have a ton of things and people in your life to be thankful for.
And when we practise gratitude for these things, it makes us happier, because you finally realise that you already have what most people dream of having and are living a life most people would die for!
In a way, it brings positivity to your life and brings you into a great and peaceful state of mind because for once in your life, in that moment, your mind is not racing with all these thoughts and emotions. For once, you feel like you have enough.
This satisfaction brings happiness and if we can make gratitude a way of life, we can lead a much happier life than we are all living right now. Sure, this doesn't mean that there won't be challenges in life. But what's a life without challenges?
I think we have a little problem... we pursuit happiness as a goal but happiness is a road we must to walk all our life long.
That's so true :)
