Why Life Should Be About The Little Moments

Have you ever heard spiritual gurus talk about life? If you have, you must already know how beautifully they talk about life and that their perspective towards it is completely different than the rest.

They seem so peaceful and at ease living each moment with utmost grace and simplicity, even if they might not have much (or any) materialistic possessions. This is in complete contrast to the rest of the human population.

Most people today are actually not living life but just surviving it. Somehow we have managed to make life so miserable and so robotic that we barely even notice the immensely beautiful phenomena that it is.

Though once every now and then, we have these fleeting moments, that give us a glimpse of what life actually is and should be. We realise that life is more than just earning a living or running in a race with everyone else trying to beat them. Life, is in the little moments, that we seem to miss so often.

The Little Moments

Have you ever watched a sunset with your partner, just sitting there in silence, holding each others' hands? Have you ever heard that pure and innocent laughter of a child? Have you hugged your best pal after a long time of waiting to meet them?

Well if you have, you will know that feeling of true, powerful and boundless happiness that one feels during those moments. These are all considered little moments but think about how they make you feel. And yet, when we talk about happiness, we rarely talk about them.

You see, moments like those are not rare in life. In fact, life is filled with thousands of little moments like those. It's just that, our perspective has gotten so out of balance that we overlook them, or their importance, in favour of other things, that don't mean that much in the long run.

In the end, no matter how much money you have, or how much materialistic possessions you have, you will only look back and remember the moments that took your breath away. Moments where you actually lived and felt utterly blissful. If you don't have enough of those, you might feel regret over a life wasted.

As a famous saying goes, "It doesn't matter how many days are there in your life, but how much life, is in those days."

People get so busy, they forget to pay attention to the little moments. Technology, as good as it is, is something that also serves as a distraction in our lives. It is possible that if we put our phones down, we might have a few more of those breath taking little moments. Thank you for your words.

I totally agree. Technology is a big reason why we just can't pay attention to the life around us or to enjoy those little moments.

It's all about the journey and to have plans, projects, and healthy expectations.

True that :)

This really hit hard man. Totally it's really about the little moments. Its like were all just trying to get to one dopamine fix to the next without taking a moment being aware of where we are what were doing. Being mindful the the Earth, room, sky, the orginization (or unorginization) of human travel. Thank you great post man.

Its kinda random but there's just so many different random things that make life beautiful.

True that :)

"trying to get to one dopamine fix to the next". This is exactly what is happening. There is no regard for or awareness of the surrounding as if it is all a big blur.

Thanks for the wonderful comment man :)

Little moments have greater impact.

They sure do :)
