2017 was a pretty awesome year. I got some stuff done. I didn't get some stuff done. Overall I'm happy looking back on what I accomplished despite suffering from quite low self-esteem for a lot of the past year or so.
Here's a breakdown of the things I did which I have some pride in:
• Did multiple >100-mile bicycle courier work days
• Worked in 3 different cities
• Did a 373km (232 mile) 25-hour out & back fixed gear ride
• Came 16th out of >300 at the Euro Cycle Messenger Champs in Vienna
• Finished a 1000km (621 mile) solo bicycle tour through the Alps which included Stelvio, Gavia and Gardena (and more!) passes as well as a 24-hour ride from Bormio to Milan
• Won 'Best out of Towner' in Nordic Cycle Messenger Champs alleycat race
• Hiked to the summit of the tallest mountain in northern Europe and bagged some other iconic Norwegian hikes
• Hiked 160km (100 miles) coast-to-coast across England in 4 days
• Visited a total of 6 different countries
• Over 10,000km (6,214 miles) total distance cycled
• Reached over 700,000 total views on my YouTube channel
• Became known to my friends as a gong fanatic
• Became known to my friends as a bitcoin fanatic
And most importantly...
• I made about 6000% gains in my first year of crypto
Screenshots of my portfolio from one of the platforms I've been trading on since last January
My goals for 2018 aren't that extensive. I'm trying not to bog myself down with too much work. It might have a more detrimental effect if I give myself too much to aim for.
I've roughly boiled it down to 5 things:
• Get back to being more of creator than a consumer of social media
• Finish an international cross-country bikepacking race
• NoFap for the entire 365 days
• Make at least 1000% gains with my crypto portfolio
• Regain some self-confidence
I think I've started the year off well. I've already uploaded a couple of videos to my YouTube channel, have made some content-rich posts to Steemit and have got back into eating and exercising regularly again. I even received an e-mail this morning saying that I made it through to the final entry stage of a bikepacking race - so that's one goal well on the way to being ticked off!
Whatever happens I will be sure to share it with all my followers on here. I think 2018 might be the best year of my life so far thanks to the wonders of decentralised payment systems.

6000% gains in crypto is something really appreciable.Which cryptocurrency exchange you recommend for trading?
I'm in the UK so might be a little different from you. I buy with fiat from Coinbase or Bittylicious and then buy other coins on Bittrex, Bitfinex, Binance and Kucoin - depending on what I need. I also do Bitcoin derivative (CFDs) trading on FXOpen, eToro and Plus500 occasionally. Let me know if you want referral links for any of them... I think most of them benefit both the referrer and referee!
Thanks for sharing a bit of your strategy! Upvoted!
Wow, 6000% gains?
Impressive!
I lost some money in the stock market last year. lol
5x leverage and hodling Bitcoin all year is a good tactic :D
6000% ?? I had to learn a lot but in the recent month i did manage to make about a 1000% profit in total. But damn that is some serious gains:) By the way you are quite a active fella', although the no fap sounds like quite a challenge.. coming from someone who also just crossed europe by bike lol..
Haha! I was lucky to get in early... even know I was buying in at all-time highs! Perspective... I used a lot of leverage with my hodling so gave me some tasty returns. I feel like when you finish a bike tour there is only one logical thing to do: Do another bike tour lol
What is your handle on etoro?
I'll give you a hint. It's right in front of your eyes!
Aha, I found ya!
I find I don't have a lot of time for eToro, especially when my crypto portfolio was doing so well... but looking at your gains, maybe I need to chuck some lose-able cash in, use some high leverage and then pray I caught it right!
Sounds like you had quite the year indeed.
I myself aim to take steps toward sovereignty. I feel like for once I actually have a great chance of obtaining that.
I saw your comment on a YouTube video. Be sure to follow back. I have been posting lots of original content ever since I started on Steemit last month.
Great goal! Autonomy is what we all should be seeking. Although maybe sovereignty has more of a legal twist on it? Good luck with it either way dude! 2018 is going to be a great year for all of us who are already deeply invested into the future of cryptocurrency. We've got the biggest and hardest part out of the way already: taking the plunge.
I just meant living without reliance on another party for essentials such as water, electricity, and food.
But yes, this year is already very bright indeed.
