I often think
my life is my own making
destiny written
as the thoughts are processed along the way
thought become words
words converted into actions
actions form karma
and destiny is written
why is this a set pattern
why does my life become so predictable
for others to trample about
is this what I had dreamt of?
when I was beginning my youth
when did I become a door-mat
when did I allow others to rule me
manners do not mean subordinacy
I only wish I had corrected it back then
years have passed
and am still a silent hen
ten years hence
how will my life be?
will my life be remembered
for what I did not dare to do
if I live on by God's grace
it might not change even then
for old habits die hard
Note - Stand up for yourself. No one else will. If you have selfish and egoistic people surrounding you, then they will misuse you if you allow yourself to be trampled upon.

entry for Announcing the Steemit School Poetry 100 Day Challenge! (Total Prize Fund 2000 SBD)
I write poems to express myself. I started writing at the age of twelve or so and some of my poems were published in magazines for children, a time when print still ruled the world. The internet and the blogging world has helped me write poems. Most of it was as I wrote earlier, to express myself and my thoughts. I have also been a ghostwriter.
Steemit has helped me write with freedom and also earned me very good friends who encourage me to write. I hope my readers will support me and also join in this contest. I am not a student of literature and so I do not consider myself an expert in poetry. It is the judge who will decide.

It is never too late to change our destiny. It starts with our beliefs. I’ve only recently realized that I have alllowed myself to be walked on because of a false guilt that stemmed from childhood trauma. Healing begins with forgiveness of self or others. I’m glad you are getting the message out.
thank you dear, wise advice
Perhaps some time on your own would put things into perspective. Get out your backpack and walking stick. It might be time for a pilgrimage. Humans are a co-dependent species ... we need each other and prop-up each others weaknesses and work as a unit. If this arrangement is leaving you feeling trod-upon, it is time to do some trodding of your own. Even if it is just a daily long walk.
a daily walk would sure do good, thanks dear
Excellent prose I must say. Why? Because I read it from start to end. And to top that it felt like a smooth ride to your preferred choice of outing.
thanks dear
Good post.
