♕Hello...It's me... My thoughts on people who do not answer texts #notthatbusy

in #life8 years ago (edited)

Hey Steemit peeps!  We have all had to deal with unanswered texts.  Lets start this topic out in play format :)

Reliable types out a text and sends it to Unreliable

Reliable: Hey! What are your plans for Saturday?

(phone shows text was delivered but not read)

  - 2 hours later -

(message unread)

Reliable types out another text and sends it to Unreliable

Reliable: Hi, not sure if you got my first text. What are your plans for Saturday?

- 2 days later -

(phone shows text was delivered but not read)

Reliable knows that Unreliable checks their phone.  Unreliable lives and breathes their phone.  Their phone goes with them everywhere.  So why are they not answering?

Possibilities include:

1.  They are super busy - no time

But you saw them post photos of themselves on instagram...

2.  They just missed your text

But you see they reply to every comment on their new profile pic on facebook

Let's stop making excuses for them.  They are too busy for you.  They put other people before you.  They aren't a true friend.  Don't waist your time on people who take your time, but won't give you a moment of theirs.  They are not any more royal or celebrity than you.

Let's take a deeper look at the subject of our topic - Mr. or Mrs. Unreliable, and what their thought process might look like:
These people are celebrities.  Not really, but they have followers on the various social media channels.  They have many, many friends.  Not good ones, but people they can add to the count of their friends list.  They will go out of their way, and do absolutely anything they can to help...themselves.  They are a selfish people.  Their life runs on their own clock, not the worlds clock.  If someone doesn't like them they say they don't care, even though deep inside they do.  Popularity is their world, and without it, their life is a shell.  They have yet to learn what really matters in life, and most of them will "wake up" after it is already too late.

I am here - trying to tell you that: most of the people that take their time to contact you even after you have ignored them numerous times, are a hero, and are a friend worth having.

If you are one of the many unreliable people that practice this selfish behavior - Stop.  Why?

- It's rude.

- It's childish.

- you are not better than everyone else.

- one day people will stop making excuses for you, and your phone will stop ringing.

So, in conclusion:
Treat others with respect.  If you get a call or text.  Don't pretend you didn't see it.  Give them the same level of detailed attention you give yourself.
