LIFE AS WE KNOW IT IN NIGERIA

in #life4 years ago

Hello ladies and gents

I believe everyone of us is enjoying our weekend. For me, I've been a bit occupied with movies and Liverpool match. I wasn't really in the mood to write today until I saw a "thread on facebook" talking about the realities of life. I was moved to write, I couldn't just let go.

Secondary school / high school:
Who remember back in secondary school, when we finish our final exam and we dropped our pen. How excited we were and had lots of dreams and hopes for the future.

If you happen to be among the privilege or happen to have a very rich parent, your future is already guaranteed. In fact, a lot of this rich kids gets into university or college in just few months because there parents send them abroad. You hardly see a wealthy man send his kids to Nigeria university because of the poor infrastructure and incessant strikes all the time.

But if you are from a poor background, the first thing that even comes to your mind is how to survive. Your parents abandoned you and think about how to train your younger siblings. Automatically, you become a man over night. When you go to social media, you see your classmates in university leaving you behind. Depression sets in immediately. You can't think at that moment because you feel all hope is lost.

In other to survive, you do crazy things. Some ladies loose out and enter into prostitution and side chicks to sugar daddy because of the pressure put on them by there parents to support there family. Some parents go as far as marrying there daughters off to rich men, in order to reduce the burden on the family and assist them financially. Some ladies run from such marriage at the end and end up been baby mama.

For the guys, you hear story of them joining bad gangs which may lead them into arm robbery or Introduce them to drug business. All in the bid of making quick cash. Fraud business happens to be the other of the day. Guys go as far as using there loved one for rituals just to make sure there fraud(yahoo +) goes through for them. Others go as far as opening churches just to swindle members, so that they can enrich themselves.

But despite all this commotion, we still have the good heads who dares to see every incoming challenges as an opportunity to grow higher. Who haven't given up on there dreams. Who do all kind of menial jobs to make sure they see themselves through the university and become someone in future. Who learn craftmanship, so that a day will come when they will own there own shop. Some go as far as serving there master for years like the way "Jacob did for laban" in order to learn the business very well and start up there own SME's.

For the genuine hustlers out there, always have faith. Bible says : "God will bless the works of our hands". So no matter what you are going through, don't give up. Life is too short for you to endanger your life with social vices. Keep hustling because who you become tomorrow depends on the decision you take today. Never stop fighting. Winners never quit and quitters never win.
