RE: Tesla’s Autopilot System is Already Better Than Human Drivers at Detecting Crashes

in #life8 years ago

I have read that driverless cars are involved in a lot of accidents, a higher proportion than the average. However its rare that the driverless car was at fault, what seems to be happening is because driverless cars actually follow the rules, human drivers crash into them a lot! If a light turns amber, the driverless car comes to a stop, it doesnt put its food on the gas and try to accellerate through on the cusp of a red light.
There was some talk of the companies wondering if it would be safer to teach driverless cars to break the law, at least until enough are on the road that human drivers learn how to drive alongside them...!
