I totally agree with you. Applied ideas are great drivers for continuous improvement. At times we just collect and scribbles them even at the back of candy labels, receipts, or old journals. Then forget them for a while and find them back when we do de-cluttering months or years later (Does anyone else get same experience?). But when we do, we are pulled to the thinking cycle again and may have the option to execute and or apply positive deviation. We always want to level up, improve and so keeping track of our ideas is necessary. :-)
