Just a regular Saturday morning - grocery shopping as usual.
Headed to one of the shopping malls in Lille area that I never visited before - trying new things in life and all that stuff.
On my way out, I bumped into security guards, who told me that they cannot let me out of the mall (as well as couple of hundreds of other people), and this is for our own security.
What was going on outside apparently were protests because of the gas prices in France, and I simply couldn't understand how calm protests (coughs) can be a threat to my security.
Oh well, since I'll be stuck in here for probably one hour or so, I could get some nice coffee somewhere. I walked around the mall and a cute coffee place caught my eye.
I was about to enter, when a sign stabbed my eyes like a knife:
The sign was saying: "Free WiFi for girls".
Free WiFi for girls?!?
Why would WiFi be free only for females? Because men don't need WiFi access? Or maybe because men are not humans at all, and don't deserve the same treatment?
I was utterly disgusted by this sign, and decided not to leave my money in this highly discriminatory, sexist place.
As a woman and a human being, I'm extremely judgmental to any form of discrimination of individuals based on group features/characteristics, and especially towards very popular opinion nowadays that certain "groups" or "entities" or whatever you call them cannot possibly be discriminated under any circumstances.
In allegedly developed country and in allegedly civilized society, I cannot possibly understand how is such sign even considered as appropriate.
Replacing one form of discrimination with another is NOT a sign of civilized society, neither represents its progress in any way.
Think about it.
Both the protests and the overt discrimination against men are signs of the collapse of the politically correct liberalism that has ruled Europe for too long.

Yeah I think that bakery does a lot of those type of things, when you go in it even gets worse.

I'm sure some would take offense to me saying: "We need more women in the world with your mindset", and I truly feel this way, but in general terms, we need more people who think this way.

Some refer to this as reverse discrimination. No matter how you look at it, whether it be packaged up and blanketed as empowerment, or movement, at it's core, it's discriminatory.
A man has to tread lightly into this topic, given the nature. It can be construed as a minimizing attempt, but you being a woman, and getting right to the point with how screwed up this thought process is, harbors a great deal of significance, in my humble opinion.

I agree, we need more people who recognize burning issues in our societies and who speak against discrimination of any kind, not just politically correct ones.

Interesting...I never saw something like this here. But for most of the times having free Wi-Fi or not doesn't matter here because for quite an amount of places their free Wi-Fi does not really work :3
It's actually a little funny when you think of it - if we have something that advantages females instead of males, no one will shout (except for a few like you who knows what is going on). If the other side happened like "Free WiFi for males" then probably it's going on CNN, although both cases can be considered as serious discrimination.
Now thinking about it, if you posted this on Facebook you might accidentally ignite the 3rd World War :3 The sign is still there for a reason, and we have a long way to go before most people become sane :)
