So after a week of being behind schedule with the original intent of the Go Rogue podcast, I finally had a time period and place for recording. But it was then that I realized that the podcast idea is a bit premature for a variety of reasons, mainly logistical.
It'll still come, but in the meantime, will start as a series of posts. So, then...
Part 1...The introduction.
What's behind the idea? How many people do you know who go through life as if they are simply floating down a river, wherever current takes them? They work, the come home, they watch TV, they jump on Facebook to complain about working, or about coming home...directionless, without any resounding purpose. Everything happens to them, the perpetual victim.
That is what Go Rogue is about.
How's that?
Plato wrote, "an unexamined life is not worth living." And that summarizes a whole lot of the issue with many, if not most, people. So let's examine life. Let's challenge everything and get you on the road of living life on you terms rather than everyone else's (or someone else's imposed terms). That's what Going Rogue is--living out your purpose for your reasons.
Why Me?
Great question! As I started developing this idea, I realized it's something I've been doing for a long time. You'll read (and/or hear) about facets of it along the way, but just this sampling of things demonstrates that I've been out of sync with large areas of the American society (and likely, the world) for some time: I've been married over 20 years, we're intentionally a single-income family, I'm self-employed in a field unrelated to my college degree OR my time in the US Navy, we homeschool, we haven't had broadcast or cable TV for over a decade, and we very, very, very selectively vaccinate. Each of those choices was intentional, and there's been plenty of difficulty...but it's all been worth it.What to expect...
Each weekly post (and eventually the podcast), will delve into one particular subject, general or specific. I'll ask the sometimes hard questions and challenge you to actually think about what you are doing and why, not to get you to think like me, or do what I do, but to have a firm foundation for deciding what you are doing and will do in the future. What it won't be...
I'm not going to be your Dr. Phil, though I may on occasion use my favorite of his lines...I'll challenge you. I'll question why you are choosing what you are choosing. I'll question your beliefs. I'll question your motives and desires. I'll question your actions. What you do with that is ultimately up to you.
But I want, more than anything else, is for you to live your life on your terms, whatever that looks like.
So join me on this adventure of life!
Any if you have any specific requests for topics, comment below...I have several already lined up, but your ideas might come up even sooner!
This really is going to be a fantastic series (and an even better podcast)
People need to be challenged in order to make the best of themselves!
Thank you for your kind words and support!
