Music from my childhood(early days)

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Hi everyone,

I have a great love for the music I grew up listening to and never discriminated against any genre except for the head banging and psychedelic punk genre :)I appreciate good music and here are some that influenced the sounds I like.

Here is some 50's music, my grandmother loved these songs and played them all the time for us kids-

The Crests  "Sixteen candles"

and the Platters  "Only you"

My mum loved Elvis and this is one of his classics-

Growing up in the 70's consisted a lot of watching TV and listening to my older siblings playing music. My uncle was a DJ and we would be up on all the latest hit songs from around the world.

When I was 5 years old this song changed the musical landscape for me, Upbeat and uplifting it was released in 1975 by Elton John and Kiki Dee- "Dont go breaking my heart"

We listened to rock and pop music-like Abba and Eagles and Credence and Queen, Rod Stewart and Elton John and many other artist who were making their mark in the 70's. Local radio stations played American top 40 with Casey Kasem every sunday morning in our part of the world.

We  didnt know that Disco was Coming.

music is life mate... without music life is nothing in my opinion...
follow me.. :)

I truly believe that we are influenced greatly when we are kids by the music around us and that fashions our musical tastes.

yes you are right and when we grow up we make our musical choices :) when I was 15 I used to listen to punk music and now I am more into soft classical music. but this does not mean I do not listen to punk . I do but rarely :)
