Tax Surplus From Marijuana Funds State Programs @senseicat

in #life7 years ago

The tax revenue from the legalization of marijuana is helping to save and fund many important state programs. In Colorado, over 500 billion has been sold and 66 million provided to the state since 2014. Some of the programs that have benefitted include housing for the homeless and school health education programs.

The overall goal is to "reduce incarceration, hospitalization and homelessness for many of Colorado’s most vulnerable citizens."

Each new law designed to regulate drugs, especially marijuana makes the problem worse. The war on drugs is just like most any other war, it just makes the original minor problems much worse.
The lives of many good honest citizens have been ruined by a charge for a little weed. People have been using drugs for thousands of years, it's just part of what humans and even animals do.
If it grows naturally a person should be able to do what ever the hell they want to do with it.

Personally I think that every state should legalize weed because people are going to do it anyway so you may as well get the tax revenue for it. And the belief is that marijuana is just a plant that people dry out to smoke and there are proven health benefits. I don't use drugs and I don't necessarily believe in them but the government should take a look at the tax money that they are missing out on. Thanks for sharing!
