Why Do Cats Roll Over @senseicat

in #life7 years ago

My kitty is intriguing to me especially that he rolls over and sleeps on his back. At first, I thought that he was doing to it garner attention (and trust me he gets plenty of that in our home) and then I wondered if he is simply comfortable and super relaxed.

I have studied many cats. The wisdom of cats is infinitely superior.
A cat is most likely to roll over in an attempt to attract attention. The behavior can be meant as an invitation to play, whether directed to favorite people or other cats.
Also cat may be enjoying the warmth of the sunshine. On the other hand, cats may roll over for logical reasons like to scratch their itchy backs, or to stretch out their muscles.

Wow.
That's wonderful insight
Never knew that

@senseicat I rescue cats, and have a wide variety. They do roll over, but even more interesting is their butt surfing. lol!

I will share some of my beauties that resembles yours!

They are lucky to have you to take good care of them

Thank you @socky 😻

I guess because they wanna be dogs and they are soooooo cute..
Although some just do it to scratch their back and if it's a female, and she just came in, there is a possibility she just mated.

So she's showing her feminine satisfaction.

It's really cute... So nice...it's sick???

No, he is very healthy and loves to sleep upside down.

Ops! I was afraid when i saw he is upside down....

I always thought it was because they were scratching their backs. My cat Shadow (who is currently on my lap stealing all my heat) loves to get into the basement where there is bare concrete, and roll over, scratching his back on the concrete.

My own opinion I suppose. Others may have differing ideas?

Cute cat! Thanks for sharing, enjoy the weekend.

That makes a lot of sense and I notice that sometimes too, but he just prefers to sleep this way.

Nice think

So cute

wow.. lovely cat....

What a cute kitty. A tenderness.
