Teaching is defined as the following:

 noun: teaching; plural noun: teachings
1. the occupation, profession, or work of a teacher.
2. ideas or principles taught by an authority."the teachings of the Koran"

They say that being a teacher is a noble profession.  People look up to teachers.  Students mostly believe everything their teacher says, and often mistake a teacher for their mom.  Without teachers, no one will be properly educated, and without a proper education, most people will not be where they are today.  Most of us can remember AT LEAST one teacher that had some effect in our lives.

Teachers are motivators.  Teachers are nurses, psychologists, caregivers and educators. Teachers teach.  Teachers change lives.  Teachers know and teachers care.  BUT TEACHERS ARE TIRED.  Teachers are just normal human beings that once had the idea of making a difference in the lives of others.  We do not teach because of the money, we teach because it is in our nature.  We want to do what we do because we are a rare species, but due to changes in the natural ecosystem,  we are on the verge of becoming extinct.

Somewhere in the "natural ecosystem" there is a balancing problem and if the ecological balance is upset, then all things go haywire.  Things must change, to normalize everything again.   That is how life works.  If you have a flat tyre, then you can't drive your car.  If the parent-student-teacher relationship do not function, then teaching can not take place.

Let us look at a class situation.  In front of you, you have that 30 little angels, all with the sweetest little faces. Lucifer- the devil, was also an angel once upon a time......

We are tired of mommies and daddies that think their little angels are the brightest stars in the universe. We are tired of being disrespected!  We are tired of being wrong all the time.  WE ARE JUST TIRED!

Parents, your little precious, LOST HER WINGS on the way to school! She turned from an innocent little

into a little from the time you dropped her off at the school gate....

That same student is the one that changes a TEACHER into referee, a police officer and a security guard.  It is a good thing that corporal punishment is no longer part of the equation, because we would possibly end up in jail for child abuse, and then be branded for life as a CRIMINAL.

Sometimes minor adjustments need to be made in a unbalanced ecosystem, otherwise there is a domino effect, with all members of the ecosystem re-balancing.  The group that cannot make the change die out.

Parents should teach their children to show respect.  They should respect their parents, their peers and their teachers.

Parents should respect the teachers, and give them the credit they deserve.  They are after all looking after and keeping your child safe.

It is not the duty of a teacher to teach a child manners.  That is your job.

It is not the duty of a teacher to teach a child respect.  That is your job.  Remember that a child follows examples, so LEAD BY EXAMPLE!

Teach your children to stand up for themselves.

Teach your child to fight for what is right.

They should not need to stand behind anyone hiding away from BULLIES.

Teach your child not to be a bully!

Teach your child that respect does not cost money.

If teachers and parents and students are able to rectify this unbalance in the natural ecosystem, then we all have a chance for survival.  This is part of the evolutionary process.  NATURAL SELECTION.

Without teachers there will be no education.  No one to teach you how to succeed.  If parents are not taught how can they educate or teach their own children.  They will not know how, or even see the need. Nobody would write books.  Nobody would even know how to read.

We are so accustomed to the way things are that we never really see the full worth of something.  UNTIL IT IS GONE.

Teachers also need respect. WE as humans should learn from each other.  But first we must CHOOSE to!

What would happen if all the teachers in the world feel like this person:)

   I don't feel well

Son: I can't go to school today!
                  Father: Why not?
                  Son: I don't feel well.
Father: Where don't you feel well?
                  Son: At school!

Oh and just for fun, listen to my favorite song in the whole wide world.

I love this. Well said. As a teacher myself I can relate. I understand all parents think their little sparrows are eagles, but sometimes we must all face the truth and not just blame the teacher if Timmy has no manners or does not do his work or attend school. The song title "Some days are diamonds and some days are stone" comes into my head when I think of teaching. But in the end it is a calling and we will not trade it and keep on doing everything we can for the benefit of OUR kids.

Very true. I love my kids. Some parent's too. :) I believe that I am a good teacher and always do whatever I can to help my students reach their maximum potential. Good luck with your teaching.
