Banff National Park is Canada's oldest national park, created in 1885 in the Canadian Rockies. The park is located 110-180 km west of the city of Calgary in the province of Alberta, occupying 6,641 km² in a mountainous area with a lot of glaciers and ice fields, thick coniferous forests and alpine landscapes.
