Success comes with a price. They say it's lonely at the top, and that is true. People get jealous, offput by your newfound status, or become embarrassed at their own lack of success. The isolating power of being singularly focused on success is a blessing and a curse, so make sure to understand this before you begin down the path.
As a person who has gone through a period of personal growth that resulted in success at the job and in life, many observed my process. I left many of my friends behind because I was obsessed on making my goals reality. I paid with my health and my relationships.
My resultant success germinated into a feeling of isolation. I had become singularly focused on my career and investment goals and was on my way. During the day I focused on working 12-hour days, and at night I focused on my investments. Charts and manuals were my focus and my relationships withered. I grew in a way, but withered in others and it showed. I paid a price in my personal life that I was not happy to pay. It was freeing in a way, but dehumanizing in another.
Keep your humility and make sure to communicate with your friends and family. Success is like a drug in that it makes your focus very narrow and often takes all of your time. Make sure to tame your lust for success and focus on what matters to you, not the world at large.
You're right: it's good to look at success holistic, from multiple angles, otherwise we can miss some of its aspects.
