Searching for efficiency on my everyday life

I think we all have the awareness that the greatest resource we have is time. It is not money, it is not the possessions we have, but time. Why? Because without it we can not carry out activities that will generate money, or possessions, or other resources that we will need in our day to day lives. So if our greatest resource is time, how can we maximize it so we can get the most of it?

This issue has been very present in my day-to-day life, since I went from a phase where there was enough time to do everything I wanted, to a phase where I have 4 or 5 hours at best to do my projects. So I'd like to share with you some of the things I've been doing to try to "have more time" with the little that already have during the day.

Caring for health helps maintain concentration

For me, this is probably the most important aspect. I have noticed that sleeping at the right times and having a balanced diet helps a lot to keep up the concentration during the day. If we keep this concentration constantly, we will not waste time with "what do I really want to do?" actions, thus optimizing the time it takes us to complete a task.

Another important aspect here is to create the habit of exercising regularly. Although I know that this practice is very important, I have not yet been able to implement it in my daily routine. However, I intend this to be my next step.

Create healthy routines

Having a good routine implemented is a good way to increase the time efficiency during the day. I think if we can figure out an order of tasks to be performed every day, then these processes will be more mechanical and we will deal with these tasks more quickly. Moreover, I note that in my case, if I do not perform a certain task in a certain order, I will realize that something is missing.

For example, when I leave home, I always check if I have my cell phone and a packet of tissues in my left pants pocket and my wallet and keys in my right pocket. I can say that I have had this habit for over 8 years and that if I forgot my house keys more than 5 times, it’s too much.

It is also important to stress that for a routine to be efficient, it is important to always be on the lookout for new ways to improve it.

Cutting on Procrastination | Increase productivity

It is normal that after a day of work we want to rest and do nothing. There is always that problem of “starting to do a task” that we have or want to do but it is always necessary that initial push. But have you ever wondered how much time you could save if you did not give in to Lady Procrastination?

What I have done in this case is to be able to look at a project like "doing nothing", and at the same time producing while resting. For example, at this point I'm developing a cryptocurrency-related application in my spare time, and for me, I consider this action productive and for me it's a kind of restting activity, or at least it costs me nothing to start to execute.

So, if you have some activity that you think is productive and that makes you rested, like watching a documentary or reading a book, then great! But this "rest and being productive" can sometimes be just a good night's sleep. I say this because sometimes it is better to recharge the "batteries" so that the next day is more productive than insisting and not doing anything meaningful with the time we got. Ofcourse all this is quite subjective, given the motivations and the situation of the person in question.
