we create this “image” of other people that doesn’t match the real personality of the person at all and we get a shock when we get to meet them in person where we finally get a glimpse of that soft inner core
ditto! i really think first impressions aren't a good indicator into who a person is. Whether its online or in person for the first time, we all filter people through our own unique lenses which distorts our perception of them.
Yeah, and the sad part is that most people think that "first impressions are the last impressions". They most certainly aren't! How many times have we judged someone on the basis of the first meet but have had to correct ourselves completely as we got to know them better?
