Ever make a cup of tea just to sit with it? That's my mood today. I'm drinking the tea, sure, but slowly. It doesn't resemble hot anymore, and that's totally okay because there is a blanket on one side of me and a passed out cat on the other. It's just that kind of day. Which also happens to be one of my favorite kinds of day.
I love, love, love a lazy afternoon. I skipped my gym workout and did some squats at home. I sat down with my laptop to do some writing and some prepping for the upcoming days. And I 100% intend to curl up in my blanket for a nap on the couch later. I just have to get through a few other tasks first.
But a bit of cleanup and cooking and work? No big deal when a lazy snooze is calling my name. Prepping ingredients is easy. Cleanup is easy when done right away. Napping is. . . well, everything on a chill Fall day like this one.
I can hear light construction sounds from the house being refurbished up the street. There are occasional cars passing across the wet pavement outside. Inside, the cats' fountain is trickling, and my cat is next to me breathing periodically deep sighs and settling further into this sofa. It's an invitation to settle in.
Recently, my wife took me on vacation to the mountains. The sun was shining, but the mist plus chill in the mornings made the day feel just like this: magical. Calm. Relaxing.
Fall is my birthday season, so can I have two? Summer is the season I wish for year round, but Fall is my season of presence and comfort. Speaking of which, I need to get myself some yarn. There's nothing like the meditative act of creating something while resting.
This is precious, lovely and so damn artistic. Loved your pictures. In love, right now.
