I think all of us have more in common than it seems. Behind our forced smiles and our reassuring handshakes, deep in the recesses of our fragile hearts, we are much alike. We might not all wrestle with clinical depression, but I’m guessing more than a few of us have felt anxious, sad and fearful. Or maybe you are someone who feels profoundly alone, even when you’re surrounded by a crowd of people. Perhaps you, too, have lost someone that you loved very much, and the pain and grief is nearly overwhelming. Or maybe you just feel lost, confused, and out of place in this perplexing and dangerous world. That is okay. We are together, all of us, on this journey through life, and we have no idea what awaits us around the next bend. Some of us will charge fearlessly ahead, while others of us falter.
