It is well-known that the Taj Mahal was built by the famous Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan, in memory of his pretty, dear wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal is a monument symbolic of the profound love between an emperor and his wife.

More than twenty thousand workers built it for more than twenty years, it is said. After the work of building the Taj was over the hands of the masons and their assistants were chopped off as they should not build another marble structure like the unrivalled Taj, it is said. Even after three centuries the beauty of the Taj Mahal has not faded even a little.
