So In today's post I would like to tell you that who so ever are exchanging votes in the steemit.chat should stop that and instead of that you can get to know each other well. So that people can follow you if they like who you are.
If you just exchange upvotes there I think your upvotes value will be very less or bare minimum since the links that were clicked were refereed from steemit.chat. and then your upvotes might not count.
I see your point, but new users can still get some followers and a few dollars worth of upvotes by going there. It might not seem worth it to you, but it might be to someone else. I have actually found several interesting people to follow from looking at the post-promotion channel on Steemit chat.
I did not said to make followers from there, its good to chat and know each other then follow the person you like. I just tried to make this point that when you trade votes whether from steemit.chat or any other place. You are destroying the beauty of steemit itself!

You make a good point. Trading upvotes is probably not a great way to engage people. Its a little too cheap of a process.
Everyone needs to promote a little, but then its up to you to engage.

I agree that trading votes and following people indiscriminately is bad practice, but why would a steemit.chat referral cause the votes to be worthless?
It might not be as valuable as it would be when there will be organic traffic and natural upvotes.
