Hello Steemians! Today I have a question for you:
Would you live eternally if you had the chance?
I know you would say, "But @siersod why would not I want to be immortal? I could graduate all the careers I wanted, I could fulfill all my goals without fear of dying before achieving them and although my relatives could eventually die, I could make great advances for humanity"
But, if I tell you that it is possible that being immortal changes the way you think?
I recently saw a video where Neil deGrasse Tyson said something that I end up adopting, and now I also believe faithfully in that. I will try to recite his words as closely as possible: "I think that the knowledge that I am going to die is what creates the focus ... the rush for achievement, the need for express love, now ... not later ... If I were immortal, why would I want to get out of bed in the morning? If I always have a tomorrow to fulfill my goals, that is not the life I want to live. And I am not afraid of death, I am not afraid of the unknown, I love the unknown ... do you know that I would like them to be placed in my grave? 'Feel ashamed to die until you have made an achievement for humanity'"
And you? What do you believe in? Would you live forever if you could? why?

Until next time!
Yes, I agree, knowing that we will die one day, that our lives on earth will come to an end does give us a sense of urgency. It also helps us to treasure our relationships here much more.
But I believe in what Jesus says about eternal life, that whoever believes in him shall not parish but have eternal life. This doesn't mean that we won't die, but that our spirit and soul lives eternally and when we believe in him we will be resurrected one day with renewed physical bodies, and live in a restored new heavens and earth free from corruption, sin and decay, where there will be no more death, sickness or tears. I believe this because I have experienced the presence of God and his reality, and that there is sufficient historical evidence for the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, with over 500 eye witnesses to this event which has changed our world and history forever. So I believe in what Jesus has promised.
Nop, i will not, sufferings & lust of this short life are enough
I didn't change my mind on a lot of things after I became immortal for my first time
And the second time? I'm sure that the second time changed
Yea, maybe a little bit
I would never want to be immortal,
Now as a young person i struggle to do anything productive
with immortality my life would worse than dead.
That's another great way to see it.

Maybe not immortal, but staying young until the day of your death would be better
absolutely i would! And why would i want to get out of bed in the morning if i were immortal? I don't really get why simply having more time should lead to putting things off. I find one of the satisfying things in life is the process of working toward goals, not just the reaching of them. The world is so full of things to do and explore, and it's always changing, always something new. I'd be happy to stay here forever, and see all the things that happen in the future which we probably can't even imagine yet!
Nice of you to take on the challenge going to resteem !
