5 things about me

in #life7 years ago

I'm here from January and in time you have known  something about me and I have known something about you (about some of you ^_^).

May be funny if I tell you 5 things about me that I've never wrote here before. Sure, five curious, funny or simply nice (or creepy??? Maybe!) things about me and my life that you've never read before. ^_^

Let's start!

1) The men and the beauty.

Maybe I have a strange or distorted ideal of beauty, but when I was young I like so much John Malcovich! Yes, it's true! He has very little eyes and very few hair, but I thoughts he was really beutiful, more than Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp. Now, the actor that (for me) represent the ideal of beauty is Sean Bean, important nose and many wrinkles, but so fascinating! ^_^

2) Movies

After dinner, I love to watch something good on the tv while I'm in relax on the sofa, but I have to say that  my favorite movies are the horror movies. An excellent horror movie (my favorite is always Shining!)  make me feel good and in peace with myself more than every other movies. I have a special "love" for the movies about ghost and hunted house! Just good movie, not B-movie, please! ^_^

3) Horror movies and love.

Yes, maybe you think it was strange, but the horror movies was a part af courting ritual between me and my hubby! We both loved (and love) horror movie and for aour first date he asked me to go to the cine to watch an horror movie! Sweety!

4) Books.

Before to start my path in the fantastic world of art, I was a great reader, always with a book of my hands! Now I'm a good reader, but less than before because I have always brushes in my hands ^_^

When I want to read something to relax my mind I read a noir book  (my favorite writer is James Ellroy) or horror book (sure, Stephen King, but also Dean Koontz, E.A. Poe, from gotic to contemporary!).  H.P. Lovecraft said  "The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.".

Yes, fear is one of the oldest and strongest emotion and it's a part of everyone of us. Fear can save us from bad situation, like an alert for our mind that thanks to fear pay attention to the situation that can hurt us. If we think about fear as an ally, we can use it to take care of ourselves. In the past, fear was inside me for many days and many nights. Not an irrational fear, but the fear of something real. Time teached me that the fear was not one of my enemies, but an ally. Thanks to fear, all my senses were set off and I was always ready to take care of my self and my daughter. So,  every times I read an horror book, I exercise my senses to set off (even if now I'm not endangered ^_^)

5) I studies in 3 different fields at the University

I was a young mom, so I started the University after than usual. I started studying Law (it was not for me, more walls and little imagination in the Italian Laws ^_^), after, I changed faculty and I studied Psychology. I love to study everything in that field, from biology to the different approaches in the clinic treatment, but after more than half of the study (I worked too in the office for 8 hours/day) , the manager of the office where I worked as employed offered me an important career advancement. More money, but no more time to study. I said yes to the career (even if after 10 years I decided to leave that job, but this is anothe story! ^_^). After 2 years, I tried to start again at the University choosing Business School. Yes, it's the story of my life, after some exams I stopped again. Even if I don't get a degree, I'm happy of my paths because thanks to them I learned many different things in many different fields and maybe when I will old (very old, more than now) I'll try again a new path at the University, at now I'm too busy with my art ^_^

See ya soon

Potrei far parte di un horror, haha. Il Manichino Assassino!
Salutoni

Se non ricordo male in un film di Dario Argento ci sono alcune scene veramente "horrorifiche" che si svolgono in un magazzino pieno di manichini :D

mmmh... devo indagare su sta cosa ;-)

It is personal when bloggers take the time to share things about themselves. Thanks for opening up. I like knowing the real person behind the post. - Troy

Very nice to learn new details about Your life, my friend. We are similar in point number 3 :) we had the same story. It's fun. We sometimes remember it with a smile. I even remember this movie. It was called "piranha". Thank you, Sylvia, for sharing.

Thanks for stopping by and for your words, dear @madlenfox ^_^

I see from previous comments here that you're becoming a magnet for beggars too... I've started flagging them!

You have an interesting life... I love horror too (you already know that) But I disagree with Lovecraft (who's one of my favorites too) I'm more afraid of the known than the unknown. That's why my stories are like they are. Evil is very pragmatic. Stuff like people in robes dancing around on pentagrams and burning black candles is mental illness... people like Denning in my story raping and sodomizing a little girl before he murders her- that's evil! Linda Blair in the exorcist spinning her head and throwing up pea soup is bizarre... a smart bomb going down the chimney of a hospital killing hundreds of women & children- that's horror for me! To me horror is practical, not theatrical. Your education my dear friend, is very interesting- psychology... that should help you understand my writing! Enjoy the new chapter!

Dear friend, I'm agree with you: the real horror is practical, not theatrical. It's for this that I'm not problem to see the most part of horror movies, because it's just theatre, not real life. Horror movies or books usually dont' scare me, it's just the dark side of real people that scare me. A quote that sometimes helped me against my "little" demons and made me feel strong was “Damaged people are dangerous. They know they can survive.” by J. Hart (in the "Damage"). Some people don't understand why I love this quote, but it worked for me and so it's enough ;)
About Lovecraft, I think I'll read again, maybe the first time was not the right time to read it for me :D

I love Lovecraft's style... I stole some of it (my use of ellipses) I got from him. I'm as damaged as they come, but I'm not dangerous (Nyah hah hah)

I love to know this part of you dear friend @silviabeneforti, in matters of study and work sos a very active person I congratulate you.
Thank you very much for letting us know these things about you, my dear friend.
I wish you a beautiful day.

A beautiful day to you too, dear friend ^_^
