Yesterday, during our walking in the forest (you can read more about it here) I watched many beautiful flowers like this, but I didn't know their name before to search them online. Now I know it's a plant of wild Asphodelus (in Italy we call it Asfodelo) ^_^
In the Greek mythology this plant is connected with Persephone (the daughter of Zeus and the Queen of the underworld) who usually wear a crown made by Asphodelus. In the Odissey written by Homer you can read about the Greek underworld, where a meadow of Asphodelus as there for the souls of the people who were not to much bad and not too much good in their life.
Thinking about the search that I do to know the name of this flower, I have to say that steemit helped me to remember my childhood at school, when I Studied the Odissey and the Greek mythology! Great!
See ya soon
Silvia
Pretty! I looked it up and somewhere it said "the leaves are used to wrap burrata, an Italian cheese", but the leaves look so narrow.
Burrata is one of my favorite cheese, it's really delicious, but it's not a typical cheese of my region (here we have excellent "pecorino"), but it's a typical cheese of Southern Italy and so I didn't know how exactly people made it. Maybe it's possible in the past they used some leaves to wrap it, but I'm not sure ^_^
Davvero molto interessante! Un saluto @giornalista
Grazie ^_^
The beauty of God in nature. Lovely flower. Thanks @silviabeneforti
