The houses along the river

in #life6 years ago

There is a subject that I often used in my artworks: the house! I'm really intrigued by the concept of "home/house" and it was the main theme of my first exhibition some years ago.

Few days ago I was in Florence for a fast visit (Florence is a wonderful city close to mine) and so I had the opportunity to take some pics around. One of my favorite views is along the river Arno, where a lot of colored houses overlooking the water in a magical atmosphere.

Shades of different colors with the signs of the time and full of small windows, all reflected on the water. That day was really cloudy, so the light was interesting on everything.

One of the thing that catch my attention is the architecture of the lower part of these houses:

Isn't it a wonderful view?

Now I have to come back to work, but see ya soon!

I love the shot with the TV antennas on the roofs. I took a few shots to post of our "major snowstorm." It's hilarious, but this much snow shuts the city down!

I just watched your photos! I can understand it can shuts the city down, here it happened the same a couple of years ago: just a bit of snow and people looked crazy :D When I lived on the mountain I used to search my car under about 1 mt of snow, it was not funny, but now I'm ready for a couple of cm in the city :D

Funny, it started snowing really hard after I posted. I lived in Wisconsin for a while where it wasn't unusual to get snow every day... that's why I moved down here. It only snows once every 2-3 years if that, so when it does... Big hugs from all of us!

Bella Firenze...belle foto! (;

Sempre bella! Noi eravamo lì giovedì mattina, poca gente (meno del solito) e un po' di pioggia, ce la siamo goduta ^_^

E' vero, con questo tempo freddo e pioggia la gente è meno incoraggiata ad uscire, e cosi si po' godere di più la città e le attrazioni. Sono stato con la mia madre anno scorso (ottobre) alla Galleria degli Uffizi, alla Casa di Dante, ed un'altro museo che adesso non ricordo il nome, e c'era un mondo di gente. Uno per conto della bella giornata soleggiata, un'altro per conto che quella domenica i musei statali erano gratis. Insomma, abbiamo sofferto un pochino, ma però abbiamo visto dipinti e sculture bellissime. Firenze, dopo Roma e Venezia è la città che più adoro visitare. Un forte abbraccio Silvia! (;

Imagine living so close to the water. Like, you wake up in the morning, open your curtains and enjoy your coffee with the view of this beautiful river instead of the view of roads and sound of horns and what not!

It's a beautiful view to see and you described the perfect moment, I think ^_^

Hi dear friend
One question to me:
How to get the highest reward amount with the lowest number of likes?
Thank you for helping me too

There's not a "magic formula" for this, just some tips: write good content, take nice pics (your own pics is better), engagement and be patient! ^_^

I assume it's expensive to live in those homes but I'd fear for flooding of the liver. It does look picturesque. Thanks Sylvia.

Very beautiful my dear, Silvia.😍👍

I really would love to visit Florence one day! I love these photos, Silvia :D Very magical !!!
