Interesting post, but the comments are also interesting to me. I live off grid in a 12 foot by 28 foot one room cabin, I have only a small amount of solar power to run a small lamp and I carry my water about 200 feet from a mountain spring up a very steep rugged hill without much more than a rough dirt foot path to the water source.

I also have a modern office in town, but the way I live, without heat a lot in the winter without a lot of work to have it, and without AC ever in the summer or a toilet (I have a composting bucket with a toilet seat on it) or a sink or shower baffles people. But those people baffle me. 80% of humans live more like me than the people who live in a typical US or European home. So, I'm less surprised by these beautiful, hard working people than everyone else who is amazed by them as to them and to me, it's just a regular day of getting on with things. Yes, mostly just focusing on the thorns...
