That sounds like good parenting at it's core. The basis starts in the home, not by outside influences. The education and the knowledge gained was reinforced by a loving, supportive family. You knew that your parents had your best interests in mind and their investment in you made sure that you had all the opportunities for success. You and your siblings were not just another set of numbers in the matriculation system that so often fails our children. Kudos to you and your parents for a job well done.
