Day #?. I stopped counting. Meditation has only happened once so far. Mostly, sessions have been restless, exhausting, or numb in the past week.
I can look into a person's heart. When they hurt, I do too. Is this unusual? So I've been busy escaping.
I see everyone has inner pain, except the psychopaths. They are clever, though incapable of love.
If there is inner turmoil, there will be turmoil outwardly. Isn't this obvious?
During meditation the past is cleansed, trauma is healed. This doesn't mean you are no longer you. Nor does it mean that you will forget anything.
Meditation doesn't mean focus, discipline, practice, philosophy, religion, spirituality, control. These things are all thought up, patterns to follow.
When you are meditating, there is no meditator. This is not something to be scared of. There is lucidity, maybe even for the first time since before your memory formed. Pure observation has a peculiar consequence: peace, love, and harmony.
There is enough self help for anyone's pleasure. You can accumulate knowledge, each day becoming a better you. You will progress until your grave.
Or you can sit down each day to face all the terrors you hide and see what's up, for real. Don't follow anyone, or any method! Why are you depressed, if you're depressed? Why are you addicted, if that's your crisis? Why do you get jealous, violent, anxious, euphoric, bored . . . ?
Don't expect to magically change. You have to change what you do out there in the world if you want to change how you are inside and vice versa. Neither comes first. The chicken is the egg.
This is not an easy thing to do, especially if you realize that you have to move to that city you've dreamed of, or finally quit smoking, or do whatever burning desire you've been hiding from that will make your life drastically less comfortable. Only at first.
Here's the thing. You'll face it all on your deathbed anyway if you don't do it now. Worse than that thought, if you continue to suppress, ignore, or escape from your sorrow, you will lose your ability to love.
The only thing I can tell you with certainty is that you can find peace. I know it. Prove me wrong.

Thank you for this. Yes, it's becoming more and more essential that we find ways to balance and cleanse ourselves. Meditation can provide much stability for us in these rather chaotic, rapidly changing times we've found ourselves in.
You're welcome. I think you're right.
Love the post. Meditation is one of the keys to connection to everything.
Thanks @seanmartin.
I recently started following you, and your posts are awesome :) keep it up! @ronaldmcatee
