Yep I have been thinking about that. I have set up some trail cams out there, and I review the footage. So far just swaying branches, deer and bear spotted on the cameras. But if I see people I will have to but a gate up or something.
Actually there are already some no hunting signs, they are old and need to be refreshed though.. Good point.
Worried about that for sure, also we have foxes, coyote, and predatory birds so more than just the neighbors dogs to worry about preying on them.
I would rather talk with them again and see if we can work something out.
Oh ya, I'm not saying to actually shoot the dog but if you the dog does keep causing problems such as attacking your birds then just mentioning it might cause the neighbors to think twice.
And foxes/predatory birds are a huge problem where I am at. I had a fox stalking one of my chickens but I took care of it. It's worse because I live in somewhat of a tourist area ( despite it being pure country) and some idiots don't understand wild animals are exactly that and will feed them/ leave food laying around for them.
I also had a hawk kill one of my birds when they were free ranging a few months back. If you plan on leaving your birds free range or just somewhere that doesn't have a cover, I suggest putting some stuff down that the birds can get under for cover in case an eagle or something tries to make them lunch.
