RE: Coffee Drinking Reduces All Causes of Death According to Recent Meta-Analysis Study

in #life8 years ago

This is very interesting.

I'm afraid the skeptic in me wonders if it is merely starbucks propaganda, a paid study of sorts. We have seen it happen too often.

But because coffee beans are a naturally occurring substance I am inclined to consider the possibility that this very well may be legit.

I personally don't like coffee, so regardless I won't be able to find out for myself. But, I shall give this a resteem because if there is the opportunity to improve people's health then I feel obligated to share.

Sort:

That is good point. This does not appear to have been funded by anyone like Starbucks that might cause a conflict of interest. We always need to be careful of these things like with the tobacco or sugar industry scandals!

Thanks for the resteem!

Yes. Indeed.

You're more than welcome.

This kind of study does not prove the health benefits of coffee drinking but it is of course going to be presented by pro coffee individuals as promoting coffee drinking the same way pro wine individuals use studies to make it seem like drinking alcohol is good. Alcohol and caffeine are both bad for health but grape skin and chrlorogenic acid (the beneficial part of coffee) are good for health. There are pills which include only the beneficial part without the trash (caffeine).
