Where does the dangerous American wildlife live?
Black bears
Over 300,000 in US. 63 people killed from 1900-2009. Attracted by the smell of humans.
Sharks
Bull sharks are the most aggressive. They hunt closer to the shore. Killed eight people on average worldwide from 2011-2015.
Alligators
1.25M in Florida. Usually prey on fish, snails, frogs, and other small animals. Have only killed 24 people from 1928-2009.
Scorpions
Killed 5 people from 1999-2007. Arizona bark scorpions are the most venomous in America. Can clim walls and squeeze into small spaces.
Bees
Most dangerous species on this list. 509 deaths related to bees, wasps, and hornets from 1999-2007. Yellow jackets are among the most aggressive bees.
They attack in a large swarm and can sting repeatedly. Attacks by dozens or hundreds could be deadly.
