#15, Lend a Hand, 40 Days of Self Appreciation

in #life6 years ago

Retract the finger of blame and lend a hand of giving.

Leaders have a habit of taking responsibility rather than passing the blame regardless of who is at fault. I know a man who has been a role model and a mentor for me. I never hear him complain or blame others. Instead he is quick to jump into action when the moment requires it. In trying times, he knows that there isn’t any time to gossip about who did or did not do their job. He’s not too good for even the most menial of tasks. He will do whatever it takes to fulfill his vision. That vision, in my view, is to embody a spirit of hospitality and service. To this man, there is no compromising on his vision, going only half the way, or getting to it later. Out of this vision was born a successful business employing many individuals. Regardless of the size of his bankroll, he will always be rich in spirit. Money is a byproduct of consistently doing the right thing. In my opinion, serving others is the highest goal one can aspire to. It teaches us humility and karma - the universal law. It’s taking an inside-out approach. By that I mean the ability to get what you want by putting the needs of others before your own. Some people try to get what they want by taking it by force. They have a "me first" attitude that is likely rooted in fear and resentment. To give first requires courage, faith and humility. By practicing this you might realize that you have more than you need to survive. As your success grows, so too does the desire to give.

In closing, I leave you with this:

“I know if I’m generous at heart I don’t need recognition. The way I’m rewarded, well, that’s God’s decision.” -Kendrick Lamar
