Yeah it's just sad that we live in a world where we dehumanise someone who has fallen on hard times.
Even if he was begging for money before, that hardly warrants asking him to leave. Just say no if you don't want to give a homeless guy money. People want things swept under a rug. It's pathetic.
Rather than just helping someone out like the guy did on the video.
I usually try and keep some loose change iny wallet for if someone like this asks me politely if I can spare some money. Because the fact is I can, and I can also take ten seconds to look him/her in the eye as I reach for my wallet and say yeah here you go. It's literally nothing, but I think too many people are afraid of confusing empathy with weakness.
And the whole excuse people harp on about their only going to spend it on drugs I'd say go and spend one day volunteering in a homeless shelter or food kitchen, and you will see these are people who fell on hard times and just need some compassion. Instead the norm is to turn a blind eye. I can see why this guy gets upset.
If he could have kept his cool it makes people who think they are normal look and feel ridiculous for turfing someone our. But I know how it feels to try and keep those emotions in check when faced with such situation.
