Interesting, I have never been taught or heard to put gauze under the plastic for a hasty chest seal!
Just plastic and tape all four sides or use a purpose made vented chest seal such as a hyfin or halo.

ive seen it taught in both versions. i learned this way in the army as a combat medic. everything has different techniques i suppose.

Yea I know different things come and go depending on what studies were done and how they were interpreted!
They may well be teaching it just like this since the last CLS/TCCC course I took a year or so ago right before I got out. I've been too focused on nursing school to stay 100% up to date on the current guidlines👍

well i was taught this style back in 2000 in army lol so your style sounds to be the newest version :)

Well, at any rate, I think either version is gauranteed to be better than doing nothing!

I carried ,plastic wrap . I am not an E.M.P. ,,or a first responder. I was Only trained to be an On sight general Foreman. I was in charge,yes.

I blocked ,,people from doing Stupid acts.

And I stopped,,,,a lot of men,from doing Stupid things.

Saran-Wrap,or plastic wrap. Both can give Emergency MINUTES to First Respondents.
A few Seconds CAN make a HUGE difference, if it is = LIFE or DEATH.
Doc is ,a man that I would trust with my life in an emergency.
