So when you say to the kids something about pigs in a blanket it has nothing to do with breakfast, its cuddle time for Miss Piggy.
We haven't gone past the guinea pig stage yet on "pigs", our niece had a little wild piglet that she found on their ranch and raised it for several years. She had named him Elmer, that sucker ended up about six feet long and well over 600 lbs, he was big enough to ride and she did.
He did end up in the freezer, just not theirs.

Yea, we have to be very clear around here when we say pigs in a blanket. It does get confusing! Aww poor little Elmer, sounds like he brought some great fun to her for a little while though. I always giggle when I post about my pig because no matter what I end up eating some form of pork that day. Makes me feel a little bad but its ironic because it happens every time.
Elmer was just bacon in the making and he was fun for the most part but as he got older the wild in him started to come out, and with those big tusks he had he could hurt you if he wanted too.
Thick sliced and hickory smoked was the way he ended up for the most part.
