So many deformed stigmas are attached to the word introvert.
It is written on my, soon to be, wrinkly forehead. It's in the unhurried way I open myself to people, in the genuine conversations I start, in the way I speak my mind without saying a word.
In a nifty way, I know exactly how you feel, although you prefer to bash my quietness and to humiliate my personality in an absurd and infantile way.
Maybe it never occurred to you that you long to be fluent in silence like me and still be able to function in society. How my low dopamine behavior does not interfere on how I manage to deal with life. And how, above all, I am not miserable.
Embrace that our brains are wired differently. Accept that sometimes I feel like two different personas trying to balance my feelings in order to be considered acceptable.
Take time to appreciate our differences, the overactive conscience, the gradual way I nourish friendships, the value quality over quantity, real connections rather than polite conversations.
Rest assured knowing that tiny little ignorant phrases like the one below, do not bother me.
"You are too quiet!"
Yes, I am and I have no problem with that.
Moving into a group of new people, i will connect quickly with the extrovert type but at the end of the story, i find the beauty and true friendship in the ones i barely noticed the first time. In my language we have a saying "stille waters, diepe gronden" which i would translate as "the calmest waters are the deepest".
We are all different colors forming a beautiful spectrum, it is just a matter of acceptance and non judging that makes the light shine
@bubke you are such a wise owl :)
Thank you so much for your comment
Much love,

A very interesting perspective @szuri! Thank for sharing! I feel a bit more aware now, because in a way I align myself with the feelings in your observation. People often see in others what they don't like about themselves, or what they're struggling to overcome themselves. Behind every malicious comment towards you might be actually a cry for help from a scared individual. We all strive for communication and we've invented thousand of ways to do it. If we'd all put a little more understanding towards each other, I believe we'd all live a better life. :)
I agree! Every time you judge someone, you reveal a part of you that needs healing. Thank you for stopping by @demostene.
Always a pleasure to see your comments.
Much love,
Ema
Exactly :)
Indeed, people need to observe that god/nature/the universe or whatever it is one believes in, gave us TWO ears, and ONE mouth.
Some people perceive quietness as an offensive trait, that to them means you're pretty much uninterested in what they have to say. But then again, maybe you are, maybe they should be more considerate as to what to actually say and stop blabbering about stuff that don't even have a flake of importance to them!
I agree @sandstrider. Sometimes silence is better than bullshit.
Words of great value, that are a remarkable pointer to the peace/silence of the inner being of everyone.
Thank you @adrianv! It's good to see you here ❤
I just wrote about, excuse me, ranted about my introversion in a post a few days ago. I like very much "fluent in silence." What a great turn of a phrase. I've gotten the "you're too quiet" more than I'd like to remember. I used to let it bother me until I realized it was really them saying, "I feel I'm not interesting enough to peak your interest, and that make me feel insecure, so I'm telling you that you're too quiet."
Thank you so much for stopping by! At some point in life, I figured it out that being "fluent in silence" is nothign to be ashamed of.
@travelman ❤
"You are too quiet!" - Yeah this is something I used to hear a lot.
And I'd reply "and you talk too much about not a lot" (in my mind of course) :)
@abh12345 I know the feeling way too well :)
Much love,
Ema
Truly enjoyed reading this... I love the expression "fluent in silence" I might quote you in the future... much success to you!
Thank you @meno!
I can relate to this article, but from a different point of view. As I'm an extrovert, most of my friends were introverts and I had to untie them for myself. If you crack one's shell, he is the loveliest person. Introverts are smarter, because they choose who they want in their own life and who they kick away!
Agreed! @pricadrian98
nice post..
Thank you for stopping by @nijhum :)
Great work, @zsuri!
You are an inspiration!
Thank you @nature.art!
Your comment is greatly appreciated 🌿
From my observation, there are quite a lot of introverts on Steem :) I myself am a social introvert.
I have found my tribe! :)
