Measuring Our Success

Success is the result of obedience to principles or laws. For example, a car doesn’t try to run well. Just give it what it needs and it will run well. That’s all! Just following the laws or principles of the engine, so it is with life. In Proverbs 23:5, says, “When you set your eyes on it (riches or wealth), it is gone. For wealth certainly makes itself wings. Like an eagle that flies toward the heavens.” In other words, whoever chases money, money will surely sprout wings. The more you run after it, it runs away from you. Jesus said, “Seek first the kingdom (new government) of God and His righteousness (right positioning) and all these things (needs) will be added or given to us. (Matthew 6:33) The things should be chasing us. We attract things! Opportunity will look for us. If we don’t have enough money, then we need to go back to the principle of tithing and offering. This is returning to the basic laws or principles.

Success is not what we have done, compared to what others have done. We will always find someone dumber than us, so don’t compare ourselves to anybody. Success is what we have done, compared to what we were created to do. (Dr. Myles Munroe) How do you measure success? For example, if a bird was created to fly and never flies or use its wings to fly that bird is a failure, but if it flies, then it’s successful. Success is discovering what we are supposed to be doing? What we were born to do? Pursuing the gift, not comparing ourselves. That’s success!

Keep pursuing our talents. Don’t worry about success. Serve the gift. Do you know why we all love winners? Deep in our DNA, in the heart of our spirit being, it’s the spirit of the creature that knows, how to succeed? When we see it, it makes us identify with them. That’s why we don’t like to see people in the last place. We are here because we won. We are not trying to win, we are a winner. For example, 500 million sperm race to get to one egg and we made it! We begin as a runner and we begin as a winner.

Success is the fulfillment of the purpose and assignment for which we were created. A tree is only successful, if it has fruits with seeds in it, not just a tree. Success is the fulfillment and completion of our purpose (the reason for our existence or why we were created) in us for His namesake. God built our purpose in us for His namesake. Our future is in the gift. We don’t have to work for a gift. Our talent or gift came within us. Everything it needs or necessary is there.

We don’t go to school to get our gift. Education cannot give it to us. It can only refine our gifts. That’s why our gift must not be a victim of our economy. Crisis (change) cannot destroy a gift. Crisis manifest gifts. Most gifts are buried in a career. God never gave Adam a chair, a table or never cook a single meal for Adam. God hid the table and the chair in the tree. We can be a carpenter or a chef. God gave the man, a tree and a garden, and He said, “Work with that.” We need to stop looking to government to bring us everything. This is why the curse of our regional or district is consumerism. We consume, we don’t produce. Producers are thinkers. Consumers are hoarders. That’s the reason we import 80% of what we consume. We don’t produce anything. We have been conditioned and built to depend on the system, to produce for us employment. Maybe that’s why the system is not working or spits us out. God wants us to go and think. To use our brain that contains 500 billion cells. Once, you discover your gift or talent, then maximize your potential (untapped power). God bless you!
