"Life, Nature and Value...of Personal Filters"

Light is electromagnetic radiation. Without the ozone to "filter" out harmful ultraviolet radiation, we'd be reduced to dehydrated cancer cells...or oblivion...

Which brings me to ponder: Filters.

And simultaneously, just like the sun and earth 'expand and contract', humans 'expand and contract' and thoughts expand and contract; which brings me back to "filters".

Humans like the sun not only expand and contract; humans like the sun, also emit electromagnetic radiation.

Now granted the human body is in the infrared region (which simply means we emit "heat") but as we all know, heat has a low range, a comfortable range and heat also has a really hot range.

When the sun emits high levels of radiation, humans "filter" the sun by wearing sunglasses, sunscreen or by implementing measures that include taking cover or sitting in the shade.

When a human emits a lot of heat (runs a fever) we have learned that are capable of filtering the heat by implementing cooling measures (ie: we put a wet cloth on our forehead, we take a luke warm bath or perhaps if circumstances permit, we even go as far as taking a fever reducer.

Shifting my thought, I think about the expansion and contraction of emotion.

Perspectively, cold conversation, heated discussion and personal 'filters'.

Some people have "NO FILTER".

They are those who spout off at the mouth, with no regards for who may be listening and no regards for who's feelings may or may not be hurt, numbed, excited or even heated in the process.

Some people claim to have too much "filter" and they the repress their thoughts and withhold their thoughts, feelings and perhaps heated experience, in silence.

Then along with the highs and lows, there are those people who express their thoughts, feelings and actions through their personal "filters" (behaving somewhere between extremely filtered and filterless) like that of even keeled moderators, mediators and those who consciously express with a tempered, voice of reason.

Filters....

I find the topic of 'filters' to be intriguingly interesting, which lends to why I ponder it, to be (filtered) or not to be (filtered).

Imagine being in the blazing hot desert sun, all day, with no sunscreen or listening to someone with no filter blazing over you and raising your temperature by pounding you with stress.

When I think of "filters" I think of an array of different types of filters, what that filters function is and how I can correlate that understanding to human interaction, circumstances and understanding that leads to problem solving and the creation of implementable solutions; from a multitude of perspectives.

With everything that is being put into the air, the water, the soil, the food supply and even into the human mind, I find myself using more filters in some areas of life, less filters in other areas of life and even new or different types of filters in areas if life where I have never (to this point) needed filters.

"Filters", take some time and really ponder the function of filters.

It's thought provoking and deep when really thought about it.

Some years ago, I researched sound and I pondered expansion, contraction and how "Change" is the ultimate inevitable; and through the years, as I pushed myself to persevere through some of life's most harsh and challenging 'conditions', I now (more than ever) have aged to appreciate the nature and value of life's filters.

Great analogy. Really puts your point into perspective!

Followed :)

Metaphors give dimension to perspective . Thank you for noting the point that stood out to you.

Pondering filters,
Nervous about what to say ...
Filter in itself?

<3 Loved the post! I know that filters has definitely been one of my challenges, especially in the last few years. Part of the process, I believe. It's like you get to one level, then you level up and the rules are slightly different or it's harder. In any case, it definitely is not over. Each person has their own style and speed, so it isn't even set in stone, what the challenge for the new level is or when it will pop up. You have always been an inspiration for this direction of thought. I am super excited to see you here! Welcome to Steem!

Absolutely , Filters from water to oil to body and mind and soul. Most eloquently stated.
