RE: Venezuelan eating a cat on the street – Extreme hunger caused by Socialism and corrupt government

in #life7 years ago

It is a case of the many ruled by the few. No matter what the system, it always seems to end up that way. Communism was designed to be an "equal" system when ended up being, in the Soviet Union, the most murderous form of government ever. Even today, Russia is run by the few at the top while the rest suffer.

Venezuela is just a more extreme case of that. Same with North Korea....And Cuba....you have one leader with his inner circle...the country's wealth basically becomes theirs. The rest are starved to death..literally.

Sadly, the US is moving in that direction. It appears capitalism's end game is the same...all the eggs end up in a few hands. Perhaps it is simply a part of human nature, no matter what the system of government is....the few who amass the wealth have the connections to insulate them from losing said wealth from competition.

That is why a decentralized system is so exciting. It appears human benevolence truly doesnt exist on a large scale with people ending up being exploited. Government itself is the problem...not the system chosen, not the people in there...the fact that government exists. We need a new model of commerce, money, contracts, leadership...hopefully the blockchain can go a long way in doing this.

Such a great explanation! It's all about Government vs Individual, Tyranny vs Freedom. Like you say "Government itself is the problem". Let's hope blockchain can push humanity forward before we all destroy each other. I'm an optimist because I've seen Governments trying to outright kill decentralized networks before and they always fail so Bitcoin will very likely not be any different.

Want a radical thought my friend.

I dont know how long it will take but I believe the nation-state is in the process of starting its demise. We are entering an age where national borders really mean nothing. Of course, this was always the case for the bankers and now multi-national corps. But, soon, the average person will operate in this manner too.

The idea of living according to a model that was designed hundreds of years ago and where the value was in physical control. Now the physical stuff is secondary. More of life is going digital and hence we will operate under those rules.
