The Republic of Turkey was founded in 1923 after our indepedence war. Thanks to Atatürk who was the leader of Turkey's indepedence war, we have our country now. Before that year, we were under the power of Ottoman Empire and this big empire ruled many areas in the world, including Balkans, Middle East and Africa. That's why, we have a really rich culture in our Turkey now. In this post , I will talk about our traditional drinks.
( bubbles are important in turkish coffee to prove that it was well made! Unesco has declared turkish coffee as cultural heritage of Turkey)
Let's start with turkish coffee ( türk kahvesi) . Turkish coffee is an important part of our culture. it is always said that coffee is just an excuse, the important thing is to come together and spend some nice time with friends. This coffee is unfiltered and roasted. It is made with some water and sugar. The device we use to make it is cezve. You can check it out in following photos.

( pouring some well-made coffee into fincan , coffee must be served in fincan, not other kinds of cups)
Turkish coffee is not the only drink we consume in Turkey. Turkish tea ( türk çayı ) is another drink which is important part of our lives. Personally, I drink 3 or 4 cups of turkish tea every day. Our tea is mostly produced in the black sea part of Turkey. It is made in teapot ( çaydanlık). Teapot has two parts. In one of them , we put tea while putting water into other one. Check out the photos to understand.
As I mentioned above, there are two parts of teapot. In the small part, we have tea and water in the big one.
