In the Bernese Oberland in the Swiss Alps, about 70 km southeast of Bern, located Lauterbrunnen valley which is considered one of the most beautiful in Europe. The valley is about one kilometer wide and is situated between giant rocks and mountain peaks that rise almost vertically to a height of 300 meters from the valley floor.At the bottom of the village of Lauterbrunnen, which means "many sources", and it was named after as many as 72 waterfalls falling into the valley from a height of several hundred meters. The most famous of them is Staubbach high nearly 300 meters, making it one of the highest waterfalls in Europe, formed from a continuous fall.Another spectacular natural phenomenon are Trümmelbach, waterfalls hidden behind the mountains which consist of ten waterfalls that carry 20,000 liters of water per second, a fall from a height of 200 meters.The cliffs and waterfalls of Lauterbrunnen inspired many artists and writers such as Goethe, Franz Schubert and J.R.R. Tolkien. It also regularly attract lovers of the nature, painters and photographers from all over the world.
