In an "eastern thought" perspective I wouldn't consider you an atheist. Western thought is so concrete that it is easy for someone to say I obviously don't believe in that concrete dogma. However Gandhi said that he believes in God, God is Truth, and the Truth is Love. That in itself is higher order. Self reflection could even be seen as higher order. Sometimes I feel like both sides of the coin, religion and atheism are both very concrete and probably too concrete. The human brain is pretty small compared to a universe of possibilities.

True. I am not the "negative"believer kind of atheist who absolutely believes that there is nothing beyond the rational or measurable. That is not scientific either. I merely need some kind of evidence and for extraordinary beliefs the evidence must be that much stronger.
