“When you dream vividly, it becomes Reality.”
In 1837, Edgar Allan Poe who was a genius writer wrote his only complete novel “The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket.”
But did you know that Poe had the ability to predict the future?
I mean, that’s going a little too far, but this novel very closely resembles an event that took place 47 years later he wrote it.
Partway through the book, the crew of a ship called Grampus finds themselves with a busted boat and no food or water. They manage to catch a tortoise and strip off its shell, but eventually, in order to survive, the crew draws straws to figure out which of them will be sacrificed to provide meat for everyone else. The death straw goes to Richard Parker.
But here comes the real twist. In 1884, three mans named Thomas Dudley (captain), Edward Stephens (mate) and Edmond Brooks (seaman) were originally sentenced to death due to the murder of a cabin-boy Richard Parker. Their yacht wasn’t really made for journey around the world, so it shouldn’t have been a surprise to anyone when it sank in a storm. The four-man crew barely escaped in the lifeboat, but they definitely didn’t have enough provisions for survival. So just like their counterparts in the 47-year-old Poe's tale, three mans considered drawing straws, but they figured Parker was dying. So Parker was killed for the sake of the crew.
As you can see, Poe's story came real after 47 year.
Poe wrote something very vividly just like he was watching with his own eyes and dreaming for real. Thus, his writing seems very realistic. So it makes sense some people said Poe had the ability to predict the future.
This writer was known for his vivid imagination. In the record, he couldn’t separate Real World and a Wold of Imagination while he was writing. I mean, he wrote something on the boundary between the real world and a dream world.
"You, if you could dream vividly and write something as if you have seen, can you make your dream come true? "
Yes, The Power of Unconscious mind and The Power of Visualization are the KEY.
Normally we misuse the power of visualization.
We just only focus on a shortage by comparing with others, instead of thinking about beauty, love, wealth and happiness.
Such as,
"I don’t have a car but he has a nice car.."
"She retains her slim figure and is free of wrinkles. but I'm fat and old.."
"I’m poor.."
"I don’t have a nice degree.."
On the contrary, if you try to see what you’ve achieved (no matter how small it is) and what you have, your life is gonna be much more valuable and will be colorful.
For example,
"I have a wonderful family"
"I have enough money for buying a delicious sandwich and a cup of nice coffee"
"I have something to do so that I don't get bored. "
Further, if you focus on your positive future and dream it for real, it will realize just like a realistic novel became a real event.
The power of unconscious mind and visualization can be explained as quantum mechanics in science and the "law of attraction” in philosophy. It shouldn't be considered as superstition or such absurd story.
So All you have to do is put out positive thoughts and really focus on that thoughts. Then do a little actions. Finally, you can get what you want.
I'm really happy to share this story and Thank you so much for reading.
