Nah man. I don't think it's about being better necessarily. Just different. We're in a constant state of change. Intersubjectivity/culture define us as much as individuality. Writing a post is like bet hedging. It can be really good (+1), really bad (-1), or timeless (0). Maybe we should try writing ourselves things that we'll need to hear in the future.
