Observing World Tuberculosis Day

in #life7 years ago

Tuberculosis, or TB, is a disease(usually of the lungs) caused by Mycobacterium Tuberculosis and is communicable. It can be transmitted through the air, when an infected person speaks, sneezes,or cough.

Though TB can be cured now with the help of medicines,we still need some measures to prevent it,from entering our body.

How to prevent Tuberculosis(TB)?

1.Avoid exposing yourself to people with active TB-- obviously, the most important precaution one can take to prevent TB is to avoid being around with people with active TB,which is highly contagious, especially if one have already been tested positive for latent TB.
2.Lead a healthy lifestyle-- People who are in poor health are more susceptible to the TB virus,as their resistance is lower than in healthy people. Therfore, it is important to do your best to lead a healthy lifestyle.
3.Get the BCG vaccination to prevent TB-- The BCG(Bacille Calmette-Guerin) vaccine is used in many countries to help prevent the spread of TB, especially among small children.

So,here are some of the pictures we took yesterday, while promoting the awarness about the Tuberculosis.
