Hey Fellow Steamians! Grab Your tinfoil suits and put a fishbowl on your head :)
It has almost been 50 years since Apollo 11 landed on the moon and it was witnessed by millions on live TV.
Maybe we can all start howling at the moon to celebrate this day....just kidding ;)

Many still say that this is a hoax and that the moon landing was staged. But I would like to think that mankind is capable of achieving greatness.
“One small step for man, One giant leap for mankind.” ~ Neil Armstrong
Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became heroes to many people and the world, especially small children who want to become astronauts.
Maybe you can celebrate this event by taking a romantic moonlight stroll, camping, shoot some leftover fireworks from the 4th of July or just have a braai (BBQ) with some friends and family, any excuse to eat some meat off the grill right?!
Or if you are lucky enough to own a telescope, you can have a look at the moon from "up close."
"TODAY - Thursday, July 20, 2017
The Moon today is in a Waning Crescent phase. In this phase, the Moon’s illumination is growing smaller each day until the New Moon. During this phase, the Moon is getting closer to the Sun as viewed from Earth and the night side of the Moon is facing the Earth with only a small edge of the Moon being illuminated. This phase is best viewed an hour or 2 before the sunrise and can be quite beautiful if you're willing to get up early. It can also be a great time to see the features of the Moon's surface. Along the edge where the illuminated portion meets the dark side, the craters and mountains cast long shadows making them easier to observe with a telescope or binoculars." ~ MoonGiant
Happy Moon Day Steamians :)

Fun Fact
Today is World Jump Day too!
This idea was promoted to combat global warming and to shift the orbit of Earth to extend daylight hours to create more standardize climate. Crazy right? But have fun jumping anyway, it's healthy too :)

Faking a moon landing and convincing the world for FIFTY YEARS is far more impressive than actually landing on the moon! Man we're good at what we do. @ironshield
HAHA! Oh yes! Mankind achieves greatness in any form, even if it gives you a good laugh :)

Amazing to think of the sheer excitement people must have felt when watching the landing happen on their tv screens with their families almost 50 years ago, I personally will be celebrating this wonderful achievement with a walk under the moon light tonight. Thank you for the great post Bekkie!
Thank you @bisa for reading :) Oh yes, they were absolutely privileged to see how history is made! Hope you enjoyed your moonlight walk, it was a bit cold here last night so I wasn't outside for long :)
