Inspiration - You can do hard things

Appreciate the process

Too often people look for the easy way out rather than appreciating the process. They want instant gratification without the countless hours of preparation. Too many dreams go to waste, because people mentally and physical give up. They tell themselves "it's too hard" or say "I can't do it". Often times, they let other people become dictators of their lives and surround themselves with negativity or "DREAM KILLERS". I want to remind you that no matter how big or small your dream is, it is YOUR dream, you can and will make it happen.

My challenges

As a child, I have been through a nasty divorce, I have been through court systems and juvenile systems, I've lived in ghetto neighborhoods where I've been robbed, or had my life threatened. I was involved with drugs and crime. I was a high school dropout, and I had a mother that had to work nights to put food on the table for me and my sister. I didn't have the worst life, but I believed my whole life that I was meant for menial things.

A few of my accomplishments

Today I am proud to say I am six years sober from drugs and alcohol. I am the first in my family pursuing a college degree at a prestigious university. I maintain a 3.5 GPA. I gave up two years of my life to serve a voluntary service mission. I have a beautiful wife and a job that allows me to live a comfortable lifestyle. This is all possible because I changed my mindset. I stopped believing people who said "it can't be done."

TIPS FOR SUCCESS

  1. Find your "WHY FACTOR". When you know why you are chasing your dream quitting isn't an option.
  2. Be optimistic. Negativity puts a mental capacity on you.
  3. Get rid of "DREAM KILLER" these are those that tell you, "you can't do it", or "your dream is unrealistic". I promise you if you get rid of the dream killers and find a network your rate of success will go through the roof.
  4. Surround yourself with winners. These are those that won't take no for an answer. "If you want to soar with the eagles you can't be flying with the pigeons."
  5. Change your mindset. No dream is unrealistic if you believe in what you are doing. Don't think outside the box "think like there is no box."
  6. Failure or setbacks are learning opportunities. Don't get discouraged, get better!!!!
  7. Be consistent. With a little effort every day you will surprise yourself with the things you can accomplish.
  8. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Plan it out and go for it.
  9. Have fun and help those along the way. If you are doing something to get rich you will be miserable.
  10. Stay true to yourself and be honest.
